I will ONLY accept returns from Buyers with good feedback history with a score of at least 30 transactions. Important Buyer Note: due to the risk on my side of selling this high-end instrument here on eBay. This is listed as a fixed price auction and I will end it early if I sell it locally.
But please keep in mind that I’m definitely not going to sell it for the price of an alto instrument. My Buy It Now price is very reasonable considering some of the inferior hurdy gurdies I’ve seen offered on eBay over the years- this is a high quality instrument. But if you decide you want from Balazs this is an excellent example of his work. I’ll leave it to the Buyer to form an opinion as to which builders are the best. The cost to ship from Hungary, and the wait time, a 1600 Euro will easily cost you more than $2,600. This one is the more expensive tenor size- deeper pitched voice and louder than an alto.
more has alto sized instruments for sale at 1,600 Euros, but these can’t compare with what I’m offering for sale. So you can order one from him by visiting his website. Balazs continues to build excellent quality instruments. So the end result is a very stable assembly. It’s better than new because the wood had already shrunk/expanded all the joints had settled THEN it was overhauled. Re-glued what needed gluing, rebuilt the shaft and wheel, gave it new tangents, and refinished it. Then I played the heck out of it for many years, then returned it to the builder for complete restoration in 2011, including a new wheel. Hungarian Hurdy-Gurdy by master builder Balázs NAGY of Budapest( Balázs is his first name) This is an exceptional TENOR size instrument. Please e-mail me any questions that you may have and I'll get back to you ASAP! Thanks very much for having a look and I hope you win! PLEASE PAY WITH IN 3 DAYS OF AUCTIONS END-THANK YOU# PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS BEING OFFERED ON OTHER SITES AND AUCTION MAY END AT ANY TIME UNLESS YOU BID-THANK YOU#
more made and will provide many more years of enjoyment for the new owner.Feel free to look at the Musicmakers website and see for yourself what these are selling for new plus the cost of the gig bag! Due to it being made of wood and due to its age, it is being sold in well-cared-for"as is" condition. The cracks running along the grain helps to hide the fact. The instrument has been well cared for since the day I received it and has always been kept free of knocks and dings to the best of anyones ability! I have truly enjoyed owning this and hate to sell but must do so because of the economy. The finish is in very good shape with just a few hairline cracks here and there in thespruce top finish which run along the grain. It has adjustable tangents and currently has nylon tenor strings with metal drone strings. the strap that is shown in the picures does not go with the instrument. It is made of walnut with a spruce top and comes with a soft shell gig bag and strap buttons. Here is a nice hurdy gurdy that I purchased from Musicmakers back in 2003.
